some observations

Its interesting to see the dad-son relationship building . Manu loves to fight with ajit .He punches and gets his swords out for a ninja warrior fight . He thinks I am not good at it.

We have a chart with our names written on it and everytime we help someone we get a red star .

Well manu gets loads of them because he helps me whenever he drinks milk,changes clothes,takes a bath...the list continues,he's helping me ain't it:-) 

Daddy gets his red star on weekends when he washes dishes .

Mommy gets red stars when she cooks really nice stuff .

Manu is bothered about the number of stars daddy gets .He wants him to get more red stars so he keeps telling me see mommy, daddy woke up on time lets give him a red star:-) or daddy helped you clean...He really wants to help ajit :-) .He feels daddy will feel bad if he dosen't have equal number of stars.

I am sure he sees ajit as competition .When we go out for walks manu dosen't want us to talk ,he wants us talking to him .This has been there for a long time but I see him slowly accepting that it is ok for daddy to talk to me. 

The other day he told me to give a star to ajit and  myself because we love each other a lot...

why do we need to sleep?

question that has been bothering manu for quite some time .Only if we didn't have to sleep we'd be able to play so much more,read much more,spend so much more time with friends ,draw much more ,play piano ...i don't like sleeping

electronic man

Last weekend manu was chanting -daddys name is electronic man he loves to go to bic camera 

ajit-beware ,he's picked up that electronic shops are ur favourite time pass and all u love to buy is electronic items :-)

Something more -Manu goes to ajit when he is working -daddy do u have time for me? When will u talk to me? So ajit looks up from his laptop -yes tell me and he blabbers something which ajit has no clue of(because he definitely was not listening) .And he gets it again:-)see-u don't listen ...

It's fun to watch a five year old behave like a grown up...may be he's picking it from me :-) 

is daddy crazy?

Ajit has been coming really late for the past 2-3 days due to some release at office and manu dosen't get to see him in the morning as well .

Today morning he got up and asked me if daddy was asleep . All three of us usually head out together in the morning for office and school and I guess he was missing ajit .

manu-"mommy is daddy still asleep "

me-"yes"

manu-"is he crazy"

wo! ...where did he pick up this word from...

me-"why do you say that"

manu-"does he not have to go to office? why is he sleeping so late?"

I explained that daddy was working really hard and that he had to stay late in office so he's not able to get up early .

manu-hmmm he should get a red star for working hard but no stars for not getting up early:-)

r u feeling better?

Manu went straight to harsh's house form school ,friday evening so they were supposed to have dinner together.I hadn't seen him after I dropped him for school in the morning at 8:30 .

When I picked him at 9:00 pm I told him I had missed him. On reaching home he asked me to play catch catch. It was surprising as it was bed time and he loves to read or do puzzles before he sleeps. Anyways we played for five minutes and then he asked me if I was feeling better?

I realised later that this is the activity I usually do to cheer him up when he is in a bad mood.

How caring...

seat belts in the rocket

This converstaion caught my attention  and I peeped in their room to see what they were playing.They were sitting on pillows flying a rocket ,with a map in hand that was suppossedly the seating arrangement,and the rocket had passengers who had to fasten seat belts:-)  

sanya is coming

sanya :-) a pretty little girl age 5 ,neils friend 

harsh -4 and a half ,neils friend 

Sanya was coming home to play with neil and harsh came home as well straight from school. I picked them up from the bus stop .Read the conevrsation between the two-

manu-sanya is coming home today 

harsh-who is sanya?

manu-she is my friend

harsh-is she 3 years old 

manu-no 5 years old .when she comes home be very carefull ,please do not touch her,she might get hurt

harsh-why will she get hurt ?

manu-her fingers are very soft :-)

my my ...i couldn't stop smiling ,hmmm getting his facts right-girls are delicate:-)

are they real ?

We had gone for Nikuledian circus-an amazing performance by russian trapeze artists ...

Seeing them fly manu asked if they were real? After the James Bond episode it was hard for him to beleive that they were real people . Their performance was just fabulous. I pointed out that there was a net below and even if they fall  they would not hurt themselves. 

I could see the awe in his face. 

I think it was a little difficult for him to distinguish between the tricks of Bond and the artists...

of death and beyond

I did the advanced course at the german ashram this New Years . While I was doing the course ajit and manu spent some quality time with guruji. Once guruji asked "manu where is papa" and manu said "i don't know" and then ajit got a good one from guruji ..."don't leave him alone:-)" 

Guruji loves kids ...manu and the other kids at the ashram were preparing a surprise for guruji. The enviornmet was blissfull.Everyone was glowing in love .

 Ever since then manu has been asking me if guruji liked him the best .I keep telling him that he loves everyone but somehow he has got the feeling that Guruji loves him and ajit the most. 

Yesterday all of a sudden he asked"does guruji have a manu"

I said yes he has you na ,he is always with you. 

"Does Gujruji have a mother"

"Yes  he had a mother but she died" manu was shocked to hear this answer ...

"Did he cry ? Did he feel very sad " 

"Yes I think he felt really sad but he prayed for her"

"He prayed for her to come back?"

"I think he prayed that whereever she goes she should be very happy"..it was getting really difficult for me to handle,even we as adults cannot handle this topic,so I was wondering what must be going on in his head.

"Mommy will you also die "

"Yes"

I could see the sadness engulf him

"Will daddy also die" 

"Yes all of us have to die one day ...thats the nature of life"

hmmm ..he was in  deep thought 

I didn't want to  explain  more to him,thought it was better to leave him alone .I think it'll sink in over a period of time 

manus first story -have to add this ,he wrote this story in November 2008

 I went to a cave.There was a lioness she wanted food,I gave her food,next day I went to the cave she was happy and we lived happily ever after ,the end:-)
